This privacy policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit this website and when you send enquiries, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG).

Access data and server log files

When the website is accessed, the web server processes technically necessary data such as IP address, date and time, page accessed, browser and operating system. This is required for operation, security and error analysis (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is automatically deleted after a short time.

Cloudflare

To speed up and protect the website, we use the Cloudflare service (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Requests to the website are routed through its network, during which technical access data such as the IP address is processed. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and fast website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission. To protect the contact form from spam, we use Cloudflare Turnstile (Cloudflare, Inc., same address). When the form is loaded, the script challenges.cloudflare.com is loaded; technical data such as the IP address and browser information is transmitted to Cloudflare in order to verify whether a request comes from a human (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). In addition, the form uses a hidden field (honeypot) against automated submissions.

Contact form and enquiries

If you contact us via the form, by email or by telephone, we process the data you provide (name, email address, subject, telephone number, message) in order to handle your enquiry. Form enquiries are delivered to us by email and additionally stored in this website's database. The legal basis is the initiation or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete the data as soon as it is no longer required for processing and no statutory retention obligations apply. The data is not passed on to third parties.

Browser storage

This website measures reach with the AnalyticsWP plugin. It runs on our own server; no data is sent to a statistics provider. For every page view we store in this website's database: a random session ID, the address visited, the referring page (referrer), the device type, the browser identifier (user agent), the IP address (behind Cloudflare usually the Cloudflare address) and, where present, UTM parameters from the link. The plugin stores the session ID (name unique_session_id) as a cookie and in your browser's local storage for 365 days. Logged-in editors are not counted. No automatic deletion of the statistics data is set up; we delete it on request. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring reach (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The website also stores a cookie for your language choice (pll_language, one year, Polylang plugin) and two functional entries in local storage: your choice between light and dark design (12 hours) and a note that the notice dialog has already been shown today. We do not use advertising cookies.

Fonts and external content

All fonts are loaded from our own server; no data is transmitted to font services. Images and scripts come from this website, with the exception of the Turnstile script from Cloudflare on pages with a form (see above). Maps are not embedded: the button “Open route in Google Maps” is a simple link. Only when you click it do you switch to Google Maps, where Google's privacy policy applies. The link to Instagram likewise transmits no data as long as you do not click it.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). To exercise them, contact office@dachsteinguides.com. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority: Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb@dsb.gv.at.

Data security

The website is encrypted using TLS/SSL (https). We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data.
